Customizing an Excel Template

To customize the style or layout of your exported documents, you can adjust the associated Microsoft Excel template. This provides a high degree of flexibility in terms of formatting your finished documents.

Style change

Modifying the title, font, headers and logo of the template is a quick and easy way of improving the output.

Modifying the style

1. Download the default report by clicking on your username and selecting your organisation name.
2. Scroll down to the Report Templates section and click on the name to download it.
3. Modify the template. For your first attempt just change the font, the headers and add an image. The image can just be added to the spreadsheet.

Field change

You can dynamically change the layout of your report by changing the fields that the report picks up from RequirementONE.

Modifying the body

1. Download the default report by clicking on your username and selecting your organisation name.
2. Scroll down to the Report Templates section and click on the name to download it.
3. Modify the template. Change some of the fields using the list of available fields below, and then re-upload. Test against a particular document.

Structure of the template

The first cell of the template must contain the Report title.

The second row of the template contains your field titles. These are hard coded with the exception of the custom fields which are substituted using the $ notation described in the "Available Fields" section described below. The third row contains one of the available fields below.

Available fields

Here is a list of the fields available to you. Within this text, available options are noted in square brackets, so [1-9] means that you can use any number between 1 and 9.
